Sweet Baby Girl In Studio Newborn Photos
Can I start with..I am OBSESSED with this little angel and how adorable she is! Little Miss Ky’Mellee is the newest addition to Lee & Melvin’s loving family. I met Lee when she booked me to help plan and photograph her & Melvin’s wedding. (Bayfront Convention Center Wedding.) Because this beautiful couple already had a large and happy family I did not expect to be capturing their Maternity Photos at the Beach only a year later! Their maternity session was perfect. It tied together their wedding day with the red dress Lee wore and their engagement photos which took place on a tropical island. So, I was really excited to capture this beautiful baby girl as well.
These were my FIRST in studio newborn photos as we had only officially moved into our first studio and office a few weeks prior to this photo shoot. It was so nice to have the studio to myself without the hustle and bustle of family life around me and it was just Lee, Ky’Mellee and me for these in studio newborn photos. Because this little angel was born in late summer I wanted to capture the feel of the beach and beach grass at the end of the season. I used lots of neutral materials and my green wrap and some foliage. I thought it tied nicely into the beach engagement and maternity sessions Lee & Melvin had previously done. The Barbie movie had also just recently come out so Lee handmade a barbie box as a prop to put Ky’Mellee in and it was SOOOO cute. I wrapped her in my pink wrap and Lee brought the cutest pink flower for her hair. I also had a fluffy pink newborn blanket for her to lay on. I love the Baby Barbie photos. So, so adorable.
Because little Miss Ky’Mellee spent most of her time awake, by time we made it to the bean bag chair, these in studio newborn photos had taken a slight turn. Usually, we aim for sleeping photos, but gosh was she just the cutest curiously checking me out as I snapped happily away. That direct stare in the camera may be my favorite shot of her for the session. Lee & Melvin, your children are as beautiful as you are and I have enjoyed every moment of the journey with you from the moment you gave me the honor of documenting your family. I hope to see you again and again in the future!
