Winter In-Home Newborn Session Erie Pa
They say everyone has to start somewhere and we were so excited to start our journey in newborn photos with this in-home newborn session. Jamie & Jamie welcomed their second child during the frigid month of February. So, there were plenty of reasons to have the photographers come to them. In fact, we had just visited their home a few weeks prior for Jamie’s Indoor Maternity Session. So, it wasn’t a surprise when they had us back out for this in-home newborn session.
New parents opt for an in-home newborn session or a ‘homestead’ session for lots of different reasons. The main one is the comfort of mom and baby. For Jamie, Jamie and their little family it was all about comfort and safety. The day we traveled to their homestead it was blustery with lots of snow on the ground. The best choice was to stay home for an in-home newborn session
During Jamie’s maternity session her husband had been out of town on business, but luckily he was able to take some parental leave and was home for the newborn photos. So, of course, we opted for a few lifestyle photos with father and son. One of Jamie’s (dad) hobbies is playing the guitar in a local cover band, so it was important to him to include that love into a few of these photos. And because we were right at their homestead for this in-home newborn session he was able to accommodate our team for the safety of little Emric. We wanted to get some creative shots of Emric with dad’s guitar, but it’s so important to keep baby as safe as possible during photos. To ensure his safety, dad put on a long sleeve black shirt and stayed in the photos to hold him up and secure that he was safe. Later, our team did some photoshop magic to remove Jamie from the images.
Another thing that was important to the parents was capturing a blanket a family member had lovingly gifted to baby Emric. Once again, because this was an in-home newborn session we were able to bring elements into the session that normally wouldn’t have been possible. We were even able to pose Emric on a pillow in front of the window looking outside as dusk fell. The blue light in the sky was a gorgeous compliment to the knitted by hand blanket.
