Senior Pictures in the Woods - Jennifer's Story
This Seneca High School Class of 2022 Graduate, Jennifer, is a nature girl. So, it was clear from the beginning she was looking to do her senior pictures in the woods. We talked for several weeks before coming up with a time and location that would work for her fun, outdoor spirit. The family lives in a rural area on a farm, but decided they didn’t want Homestead Photos. We finally agreed on one of my favorite shooting locations, Fisherman’s Beach in North East. With a sprawling lawn featuring an ancient Willow Tree, park benches, a walking path, creek access and direct access to Lake Erie with a beach..this was the ideal spot for a girl who wanted senior photos in the woods.
We tried to stick as close to the tree line and nature as possible. Luckily, the creek path is lined on one side with mature trees and the other with a peacefully flowing 20 mile creek. We began with just a few practice photos on the main walking path and satisfied that our camera settings were perfect we headed into the ‘wilderness’. It was already mid-October at this point and the foliage was gorgeous. The trees popped to life with vivid reds, oranges, and yellows. Of course, we had to pose Jennifer right in the trees for her senior photos in the woods. I mean, it was wooded, right? Jennifer wore a nice pale pink sweater that blended nicely with the surrounding elements. With her straight long hair, she looked just like she stepped out of a 70’s magazine to me. And she was a natural at posing.
As we walked along the creek for these senior pictures in the woods, Jennifer decided to bring out her second favorite hobby. She has a beginner DSLR camera and is enjoying learning to take photos of her favorite hobby…her kitten. We were delighted to share some professional tips with her on mastering her camera. We were also delighted to capture her using her camera. We ended this session as dusk was setting in over Lake Erie on the waterfront. But because the sky was overcast we knew we weren’t going to catch one of those famous Lake Erie Sunsets.
