Natural Senior Session at Granite Ridge

This Class of 2020 Graduate from Fort Leboeuf High School in Waterford love to travel the 45 minutes across the county to the small country town of North East. This active High School Band Member loves to visit the local ice cream parlor, walk up and down the streets of small town America and stroll through the luscious grounds at Granite Ridge, formerly Mercyhurst North East University. The old Stone Buildings, quaint gazebo and stately trees offer a breathtaking backdrop for any photo session. That’s why we loved this Senior Session at Granite Ridge. 

Kayla loves music, especially the alternative scene. She is also interested in art and she has a hilarious sense of humor. In fact, so does her step-dad who drove her out to this senior session at Granite Ridge. Her step-dads sense of humor is so over the top is was actually hard to take any serious photos of Kayla because they kept cracking each other up. Most of the shots we got are of her glaring in his direction or unable to contain her laughter when he made a ridiculously funny comment. We ended up with a more candid style photo shoot with her because of this, instead of the traditional posed photos we normally are able to capture. But the candid style suited their personalities really well. 

We spent most of our time during this senior session at Granite Ridge in the more natural looking areas of the campus like the little wooden gazebo and the pops of orange and red foliage from the various trees, shrubs, bushes and flowers on the property. Some of my favorite shots were toward the end with bright pops of orange & red coming off of a low lying bush. Tommy, our photographer for this session created some nice depth to these images by crouching low and asking Kayla to kneel next to an old tree. 

We had so much fun with Kayla and her stepdad. Our faces hurt from laughing so much by the end of the session. We with Kayla well in whatever she pursues in the future and we hope to see her again one day!
