Senior Photos at the Peak - Chris's Story
I was familiar with this Class of 2021 North East High School Graduate from living in a small tight-knit community. And it helped that I captured his best friend, Hudson’s, Senior Session in the Woods only the month before. Although these young men were best friends, their personalities couldn’t be different. Chris is extremely playful, fun loving, light hearted and loves to give people a hard time.
Chris is very involved in track, cross country, Boy Scouts of America and Skiing. In fact, that’s one of the reasons he wanted to do his Senior Photos at The Peak. Peek’n Peak is a very popular ski resort just over the NY/PA state line that many of the local North East Students get jobs at. Chris was no different. He worked hard, and played hard on the slopes at The Peak. While we were walking the grounds looking for the ideal spots to grab some senior photos at the Peak, Chris talked to me about possibly coming out while he and his friends snow boarded in a few weeks to get some action shots of them together.
We started at the Main Lodge with it’s epic looking stone walls. The entire place is built to look like an old manor house or inn from Europe. The Main Lodge also features some gorgeous Ivy on the front of the building. Because of the mysterious feel of the property I went with a dark & moody vibe for his senior photos at the Peak. We also found a side staircase the staff uses to enter the building and I set up a flash for some interesting lighting. We ducked inside for a bit to capture some magic in front of the gorgeous carved fireplace in the lobby of the Main Lodge where many a chilled skier has sipped hot cocoa and warmed their feet.
Afterwards, Chris changed into a more casual outfit and we explored the other side of the lodge. One photo that Chris really wanted for his senior photos at the Peak was on the Ski Lift where he worked in the winter months. We finished up as the sun was setting and dusk took over.
Chris has some huge plans for his future that he talked with me about. He’s applying to follow his brother’s footsteps in the military as a Navy Seal. I hope Chris is successful at whatever adventure he goes on next!
