Senior Pictures in a Mansion - Persie's Story
We were luckily able to secure a victorian Bed & Breakfast in North East Pa for some winter portraits while the weather was being…well…Erie Pa weather. So were were able to take Senior Pictures in a Mansion with our Erie City High School Class of 2023 Senior Rep, Persie. Persie signed on to be one of our 2023 Reps at the beginning of last year. She gets 4 total 1 hour sessions with us, one for each season she chooses and then a Graduation Portrait Session at the end of the year. Both of our 2023 Reps hoped to hold their winter sessions indoors and we were still securing a studio location so we were very happy to secure the parlor of this mansion in North East.
Persie had talked with me about taking up the violin at her last session in the fall so I was excited that she brought it along with her to her senior pictures in a mansion. And, just as last time her unique sense of style fit the atmosphere. We began by capturing some fun images of her playing the violin in front of the intricately carved fireplace at the back end of the parlor. I set up some dramatic style lighting for some of the images and I don’t know if I love the black & whites or colored images more.
Persie also made me really excited during these senior pictures in a mansion when she revealed she brought along a law book for more photos! I had studied law previously and worked in a law firm…AND I played violin in high school. She was really vibing with me at that point. We settled her into a cute chair in the parlor for some posed photos of her examining that law book. I made sure to grab one of her playfully overlooking the top of the book.
Next we moved onto the antique chess set I had discovered earlier that day during another session. I had love the perspective shots as if I was the other player so we set the board back up again to recreate that. Those really are my faves from the whole day.
And we finished up this hour long session on the curved staircase. Persie’s outfit perfectly fit in with the colors and tones in the wall paper and paint on the stairs. And at this point Persie’s hair had grown out just a bit and it looked adorable in the photos. Thanks for a fun afternoon Persie! I hope you enjoy these senior pictures in a mansion.
