Senior Portraits in a Mansion - Jackson's Story
For our Harborcreek High School Class of 2023 Senior Rep, Jackson’s Winter Session we met up in a Victorian Mansion turned Bed & Breakfast in North East, Pa. I was able to secure the venue for the weekend for a few sessions. The parlor of the home has been meticulously restored and maintained and filled with period furniture and decor. It was an ideal location for this soft spoken and thoughtful senior.
We began these senior portraits in a mansion by the elegant fireplace with an antique mirror hung over it. I set up lighting to create a dramatic effect. Jackson noticed some fun coffee table books on display in the sitting area at the front of the room so we moved up front for a few shots of him reading and relaxing on the victorian furniture.
That’s when I noticed the antique chess set. So, we asked the owners permission to pull it out for some photos. The images of from these senior portraits in a mansion of Jackson playing chess are my favorite.
Jackson’s family is originally from the southern region of China. He told me the name of the little village and I looked it up. So, he wanted to include his cultural heritage in this session by changing into traditional garb for his last round of photos. We took a few more photos of him at the chess table before using the gorgeous rounded staircase leading to the bedrooms upstairs.
