Indoor Maternity Session in Erie Pa
This radiant Mom-to-Be contacted us for an indoor maternity session because she was due in February. The weather in Erie, Pa can be brutal this time of year and this season in particular was cold, icy and miserable. So, Jamie, scheduled one of our Homestead Indoor Maternity Sessions in her rural home near Girard, Pa. Our team traveled to her house so she could stay nice and cozy before and after the shoot. We let Jamie know before we arrived for her indoor maternity session that we’d need ample room to set up our studio lights, backdrop and our favorite fluffy rug.
Jamie had her husband re-arrange the furniture in their family room to turn it into a makeshift photo studio and it worked perfectly. We set up right in front of the couch. Jamie wore a cheery wine colored maternity sweater so we set up with our cream colored fur rug and black backdrop for some traditional poses. Then, being inspired by the black backdrop Jamie grabbed her black maternity top as well. That’s the nice thing about homestead sessions. Everything you need is right at your finger tips.
We grabbed a dining room chair for a few of the shots to showcase her perfectly round belly in unique ways before getting the idea to create a gorgeous silhouette shot with one of our studio lights and the backdrop. That’s got to be my favorite image from the session.
After doing all we could with the backdrop, Jamie asked if we could capture some memories in the house for her indoor maternity session. So, we took some gear upstairs to her bedroom for some photos in this relaxing spot. The mirror in the hallway was a nice place to stop for a moment to take a quick reflection photo before moving into the master bedroom. And, as we were finishing up, Jamie’s daughter couldn’t contain her curiosity any longer. She wandered into the room and we were able to capture some tender moments between mom, daughter and baby.
What a sweet indoor maternity session for our team to capture in the coldest part of winter. We can’t wait to join this little family again in a few short months for the baby’s newborn photos. We’ll update the gallery with a link when we can!
