Senior Session in the Woods -Hudson's Story
This Class of 2021 North East High School Senior, Hudson, is one of the most polite and hard-working young men I have ever met. I know a lot of the local high school students and Hudson’s personality makes him pretty well liked among his peers. This young man is an Eagle Scout, participates in Cross Country, Track and Skiing AND does competitive axe events. I’ve seen photos of him balancing on massive logs and showing off his chopping skills. He’s an avid outdoor adventurer and is passionate about his friends and work life.
Hudson’s family owns a quaint log cabin style home just outside of North East Borough. It was the ideal location to begin his Senior Session in the Woods. I met up with him in his own backyard shaded by oaks and maples which both grow in abundance in Western Pa. Hudson led me over to a huge rock, that I could only imagine he and his friends playing on as children to begin his session. And, those photos on the rock ended up being the ones his parents choose for their wall prints later. This senior session in the woods was off to a fantastic start.
Hudson then told me about how much he owed to his job as a teenager and the hard work ethic he’d learned from it. He spent his summers and falls working at an apple orchard at Westgate Farms just down the road on Route 5. So, that’s where we headed AND spent most of our time. The owners of the orchard also have a grape vineyard on the property and both provided a nice, natural setting for this outdoor loving young man.
We then walked across the road to a piece of private property owned by the family he’d spent years working for. He had their permission to use the lake cliff yard on their land for a few more photos. It was a spot he’d always enjoyed relaxing after with them after a hard days work.
While this senior session in the woods had taken a slight turn, it was well worth it. Hudson then wanted to show me the heavy farm equipment he was tasked to handle. So, we took a little drive a mile down the road and grabbed some photos on the grape harvester and the 4 wheeler that he used to jet around. In fact, he managed to talk me into getting on the back of the 4 wheeler with him and I was never so terrified…I mean invigorated during a session.
Hudson, I really enjoyed the honor of capturing this chapter in your story and I know you’re going to have many other great adventures. I hope I get to be a part of them!
