Senior Photos at the Lake - Hope's Story
Like many families living in the Great Lakes region, Erie Pa is a popular mini-vacation spot. There are tons of families that come up from the Pittsburgh area several times a year to enjoy the beauty and bounty found on Lake Erie’s shores. Once of those families is Hope’s. Hope and her mom and sister live just outside of Pittsburgh. And when Hope entered her senior year of high school, instead of capturing the run-of-the-mill photos that most of her other friends will get in the area, they wanted a unique setting. That’s why they reached out to us to book her Senior Photos at the Lake specifically looking for an out of the way lake location to capture those photos. I knew just the spot. Fisherman’s Beach was at one point a family farm. And when the original owners passed away, their children donated the land to North East as a park. It now offers sprawling lawns, an ancient Willow Tree, lush foliage, a trail along 20 mile creek, fishing access and a shallow beach front. Many North East families with small children enjoy the beach in the summer. Teenagers can be seen enjoying the fishing and couples stroll hand in hand on the paths.
We met up in the parking lot at the head of the park in North East Pa for her Senior Photos at the Lake and took advantage of the open lawn, old trees and even the mature dandelions for some interesting photos. We then walked down to the beach where her mom noticed the old rusted basket ball hoop. That’s when she mentioned to me that Hope plays basket ball on the girls team at home. So, of course we stopped and grabbed a few photos by the old hoop.
Then, we moved down to the beach and decided to head over first to the creek access point for some photos by the pool of water that collects when the sandbar gets a bit high. The still water with lush trees in the background is always breath-taking. Satisfied with the greenery and creek we finally took some images for these Senior Photos at the Lake in front of the lake. The water was slightly choppy with a light breeze that gently moved her hair. We found a drift wood tree trunk that made a perfect bench to grab a few last photos before our time was done.
